'An Evening with Roger Salloom'
A unique movie and music experience
The award-winning documentary, So Glad I Made It, the Saga of Roger Salloom,
America's Best Unknown Songwriter plus an intimate acoustic set and question and answer
session with Roger Salloom himself.
Director Chris Sautter will join the
post-screening discussion (if scheduling permits). To book this
amazing event,
Contact Eastern Entertainment
at (413) 584-6324.
Spend 'An Evening with Roger
Salloom,' a unique, informative and entertaining event
that has all the elements of an exclusive movie premiere,
intimate acoustic concert, and lively, intelligent film
discussion.
The evening consists of a showing
of the award winning documentary film, 'So Glad I Made It:
The Saga of Roger Salloom, America's Best Unknown Songwriter.'
A discussion with the filmmaker, Chris Sautter, and the
subject of the film, Roger Salloom, takes place immediately
following the film. In addition, Roger will have his guitar
and will perform a couple of his songs live. Audiences will
get to see the film, and then immediately be able to ask
questions, share comments, and meet the two people most
responsible for making this documentary so compelling, the
'auteur' and the 'artist.'
'So Glad I Made It' is an off-beat
look at the question of why some artists 'make it' and others
equally talented do not. The film follows former Nashville
resident Roger Salloom, a quirky Bob Dylan-type singer songwriter
as he tries to revive his career after giving up on the
music business for 20 years. The film includes exclusive
performances by GRAMMY Award winners The Blind Boys of Alabama
and James Cotton. The Cape Cod Times gave 'So Glad I Made
It' three and a half stars, adding "That Salloom deserves
stardom (after hearing him, youčll see what I mean) - it
makes the story all that more compelling and poignant."
This unusual film/concert/discussion
event will certainly appeal to a wide range of people: from
film students to music lovers, as well as observers of both
human nature and pop culture.
